First of all, I am not an artist so I cannot offer any perspective on the value of this set in terms of artist quality. I bought it as an outlet for me and to help me relax and I must say it has done a great job. An ideal starter set for anyone who needs a creative outlet or just has some time to kill. I like this set because it gives you everything you need to get going: 48 pages (of varying quality) plus twelve two-sided pencils and a rudimentary sharpener. Nothing elaborate here but for the cost, its a great value. A few of the pages are printed in great detail and render very nicely if you take time and are patient. Other pages are of a simpler nature and are great if you just wants a quick scribble. I must say its gotten me hooked and I have already purchased more artist supplies.

This publisher has repeated delays (it was supposed to be released 11/1/2016, and finally was printed in January 2017), and the choice of pictures they are using lately in this and another of their new releases are sketchy and hard to color. I'm going to unsubscribe from their publications; their earlier releases were much better.

I would like to note the name is missleading color your way to calm this did not help my anxiety one bit i have a coloring book app that does wonders i wanted a real one and got two the other is very good but this one was almost irritating trying to decide what i can color how to etc etc i had to put so much extra thought into it it almost increased my anxiety attack with thatThe 12 two sided color pencils are what really makes this a deal for the price the booklet is cute not to small but should be bigger the hard flap for coloring makes it ideal for travel or my couch the paper quality is a bit thicker then printer paper the colors are nice you can press hard or do layers to build up the color only one option for skin tone though the main issue is that the images themselves are like a scratch drawing with a pen which makes it hard to color in my opinion however upon diving into one i like the way it looks as i go so if there was a stronger edit on the images choose with larger objects to fill in and less black it would be more enjoyable to color

These coloring book sets are awesome! Nice color selections, quality paper. They're great for traveling, you have everything you need all in a convenient compact case. A great gift for someone in the hospital.

It’s a great book! However it came slightly damaged. All four corners bent and twisted up, a few pages were actually torn at the ends, and some weird scratch marks on the back. I spoke with an amazon rep about getting a refund but still haven’t received it. All In all the book itself is very nice, wonderful pictures in it!

RAFAEL SACKS is an Associate Professor in Structural Engineering and Construction Management at Technion–Israel Institute of Technology. He founded and leads the Virtual Construction and BIM Laboratory at the Israel National Building Research Institute, and has conducted primary and applied BIM research for industry, government, and public organizations in North America, Europe, and Israel. KATHLEEN LISTON is CEO of Eco Offsite, a modular construction company. She co-founded Common Point Technologies, Inc., a construction simulation software company. My freedom came when I began thinking for myself.""Deconverted" is a great read, not very long, yet very powerful. It's not just an atheist story, but a human one. It does more than take us one on man's journey through emotional ups and downs; it makes us think.

I have read many of the more popular, well known atheist authors from Dan Barker's "Godless" to Ayaan Hirsi Ali's "Infidel" and their personal stories of struggling with religious believe, their doubt and their difficult personal journey, down the path from devoutly religious to freeing themselves, from religious faith and dogma and becoming non-believers. Seth's own story is no less compelling reading and just as emotional and moving."Deconverted: A Journey from Religion to Reason" is a well written autobiography told with humour and heart by an "average" person. It is the story lived by many thousands of people in America and around the World, every day. This story could very well be your story of doubt and loss of religious faith.I think this book will be an insightful read for both the non-believer and the faithful. Those doubting their religious faith and the irrational religious dogma, will find solace in knowing that it is indeed ok to question one's religious faith and what you have been instructed to think by your Parents, Pastors and Priests.The Faithful will gain an understanding in simple terms, as to why their loved ones and friends can and do quit their faith and turn away from religious dogma.The reader will receive a first hand account of the experience of someone, who was raised in a very Christian home by loving, devout Christian parents in a majority Christian community, in the belt buckle of the Bible belt of Mid Western America and who, as an adult began to question his religious faith.The Believer who has doubts, will be able to relate to Seth and his story on a personal level. Seth had those same doubts about his faith, as you do and began to ask the difficult questions, started thinking for himself and finally followed where logic, common sense and reality, not faith, indoctrination and traditional ancient dogma, lead him.. I felt very alone during my 2007 middle-aged deconversion, despite living in the most unchurched part of the country (Pacific Northwest). However, as time passed fellow faith-expats like Seth Andrews published their exodus stories and I began to feel like I was part of a burgeoning movement. Reading "Deconverted" was like a trip through memory lane, and I easily identified with the story of a man who, after decades in the Church, finally figured out it was a house of cards and abandoned a comfortably numb religious fantasy for the soothing balm of atheist rationality.Mr. Andrews and I are both Generation X and therefore experienced many of the same Christian rites of passage, such as being scared towards God by the apocalyptic "Thief in the Night" cheese-fest series of movies and rocking out in a holy way to righteous acts like Petra and the Imperials. He got saved at a much earlier age than I did due in no small part to the influence of his Christian parents, but our post-conversion result was the same: a passion for all things Jesus and a quest to become a "man of God" via the Scriptural use of spiritual gifts and natural talents.In the author's case, coming of age during the big boom of contemporary Christian music in the 80s and 90s led Mr. Andrews to his calling as a Christian radio deejay. At first life seemed divinely ordered, but as time went on he began to question his beliefs as he grieved over the senseless deaths of devout Christian musicians Keith Green and Rich Mullins, cringed at the excesses of evangelical luminaries such as Oral Roberts, and recoiled from the horrifying actions of religious fanatics during 9/11. Mr. Andrews' once fiery faith began to sputter and he settled into what a more zealous believer would call a "lukewarm" mindset.But as the saying goes: "when the student is ready, the master will appear." This fateful event happened for Mr. Andrews (and me as well) when the New Atheists began releasing their controversial and hard-hitting tomes. In particular, raconteur Christopher Hitchens made a strong impression on the author with his witty and articulate demolition of all things religious. Turns out I'm not so alone - "Deconverted" is now one of many ex-Christian memoirs, blogs, and groups where the newly rational can find fellowship and encouragement. Although lifelong unbelievers will enjoy "Deconverted", those of us who did time in Christianity will deeply appreciate and relate to Mr. Andrews' pilgrimage to atheism.

WASHINGTON has been a fellow in ethics at the Harvard Medical School, a fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health, and a senior research scholar at the National Center for Bioethics at Tuskegee University. As a journalist and editor, she has worked for USA Today and several other publications, been a Knight Fellow at Stanford University and has written for such academic forums as the Harvard Public Health Review and The New England Journal of Medicine. She is the recipient of several prestigious awards for her work. Washington lives in New York City.

I bought and read this book in 2012. I even used it in my own book, Through the Lens of the Transatlantic Slave Trade. However, it is still an important book for all to read. What struck me then and now are all the ways the medical establishment has undermined and denigrated the African body. When I encourage people to read the book, I tell them that the Tuskegee experiment is only one chapter in a book with 15 chapters. There has been so much under-the-radar activity that continues to encourage people to think less of the African Diaspora citizens who live with us. Our current Zika virus conversation is another twist for the books, which is probably an extension of the AIDS virus. Harriet Washington also takes us into a activities and conversation about Eugenics, which established stereotypes about African bodies more toxic and more menacing than biologically possible. This past week I was in a conversation about a Black woman who need a bone marrow donors. Her probably best match will be another black person, we're told. The protocols were established on Black patients in Ivy League hospitals for White patients, who use it much more often than Black patients. Thank you for opening my eyes about the insidiousness background from the medical/biological field. I look forward to your next work, hint, hint!

GREAT READ. EVERY DESCENDENT OF SLAVES SHOULD READ AND TEACH OUR CHILDREN THE HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF OUR ANCESTORS BY THE HANDS OF THESE EVIL DOCTORS AND NEVER LET OUR FORMER SLAVE MASTERS CHILDREN FORGET,,WE OWE IT TO OUR BEAUTIFUL STRONG ANCESTORS.

As a Black female and a medical professional, I find this book to be an "eye opener"! I work for a world class institution and have found that medical exploitation of minorities in general and poor blacks specifically, is on going. Income level play a major role in the disparities, regardless of what you hear, that "all of our patients are treated equally, regardless of income." Blacks must learn to speak up, question what it is you don't understand and not be afraid to ask for second opinions. You have a Patient Bill of Rights that should be posted in every medical facility. READ IT ! You have a right to ask that a doctor, nurse, aid personnel, data collector etc. speak in a language that YOU understand.Don't sign anything that you don't understand ! If you are having any type of invasive procedure, be sure that it is a Board Certified Specialist in that area of expertise performing it. Not a Resident Surgeon, unless the "expert surgeon" is present and observing and/or assisting. Get a POAHC and make sure it is someone who is vocal and assertive on YOUR behalf, when you are unable to speak for yourself. Having a degree is not a prerequisite for the latter.

This is such an important read for anyone interested in the history of black folks in the US and how the white population has continually oppressed the black population in cruel and gruesome ways. Washington is an amazing writer - even though she is writing about history (which can sometimes be a bit of a bore to read), she writes in a way that makes the text easy to read and understand, and make you want to keep reading. I also really liked how she focused on the prison system as a tool of medical oppression of the black community, because this point is often overlooked by a lot of scholars who decidedly chose not to pay attention to the prison population. Good book, great information!

This is just another reason why African-Americans deserve and should be demanding reparations! The US and possibly the world medical industry/profession owe a great debt to all the African-American families whose lives were destroyed, maimed or harmed by these experiments not to mention the racist stereotypes that were attached to us for the sake of "progress" Black people suffered treatment that wouldn't be applied to animals and I am sure this book is only scratching the surface of the atrocities committed.

I think this book is extremely important and informative, but I am disappointed by the poor copy editing. I am halfway through so far, and have found numerous issues with spelling, capitalization, and omitted letters, not to mention several ambiguous or redundant sentences. Yes, it's an emotionally difficult read, but someone at Random House should have taken the time to parse it more carefully!
