The monster rampage is winding down, except for a few stubborn marauders. Puri-Puri Prisoner demonstrates anew that some heroes just do not have good sense. (And he delivers an "oh, my god!" moment when he gets a phone call -- you'll see what I mean!) Saitama missed most of the action and is feeling low, but receives advice and counseling on heroism and purpose in life from ... King? Finally, Garo vs. Watchdog Man -- in flashback/summary, but at least we find out what happened. The Monster Association reaches out to Speed-O-Sound Sonic. Armored Gorilla (remember the House of Evolution?) reappears. A monster with an ultimatum and challenge penetrates Hero Association headquarters. Not all heroes -- in particular the mysterious Metal Knight -- endorse the Hero Association's plans; and not all monsters -- hardly any, in fact -- are enthused about serving Monster King Oriochi. Is there a monster equivalent of One-Punch Man in the crowd? If so, you heard it here first! Garo and wimpy kid Tareo reconnect. And that's not even a complete summary of this issue's events ... A couple of fun bonus chapters, too: "Threat Level" discusses and demonstrates monster ratings in the present time; and "Sighting" revisits the very first One-Punch episode from a different perspective. Just one kinda disappointment: Lovit Rabbit -- featured on the back cover -- turns out to be only a video game character, not a new addition to the cast. Oh well.

Things finally come to a head in Volume 15 of One Punch Man. The Monster Association finally makes contact with the Hero's Association to deliver their ultimatum. In three days they will declare all out war by executing their prisoners. Will the hero's be able to face such a force with so many members already injured? It all starts here. This is in all honesty one of the most exciting volumes in a while. There is so much good build up and some gorgeously drawn sequences in this volume. If you haven't read the past couple volume this is a pretty good place to hop in as it's the true start of One Punch Mans biggest arc to date. As with other volumes of One Punch Man it is worth mentioning that the fights can get a bit graphic, so do with that information what you will. I have been MickManga and I will see you all with the next volume of One Punch Man. Until then I hope you have a great day.

While I am enjoying the monster association Ark, along with the details of the other characters. I really enjoyed the breakdown of the threat levels and why they aren't exactly accurate. Still I am missing Saitama kicking ass, hopefully we get to some more of that soon.

Another great volume for the series; getting the next Vol ASAP. Looking forward to season 2 One Punch-Man. ONE’s “Mob Psycho 100” anime is also a fun watch.

The adventures continue with more time for some less used characters.

Great Manga I Love How The Monster Association Member Gyoro-Gyoro Confronts The Hero Association And Garou Is Surrounded Around The Heroes In The End Can't Wait For Vol 16

The series is in a bit of a slump, but it’s starting to pick up. Still going to read faithfully.

Good

In explaining the differences between the Christian East and West, different people take different approaches. One may begin by explaining doctrinal differences between the Roman Catholics and the Orthodox (the filioque, Papal Supremacy and Infallibility, the Orthodox theology of Uncreated Grace, etc...) or one may take an historical approach. For the common faithful, however, the answer often given is simply that Western denominations and Orthodoxy have a "different feel." The mindset, or phronema, of Orthodoxy is just different and therefore hard for a non-Orthodox to understand. One priest put it to me this way: Some say that the difference between Protestants and Catholics lies in the fact that they ask the same questions but get different answers. They go on to say that the difference between the Orthodox and the West, then, is that they simply ask different questions. However - this priest went on to say - it gets even more confusing. In some cases, the Orthodox ask the same questions, but their words mean completely different things...In trying to get to this difference, that "different feel" so often noticed but rarely given definition, James Payton, Jr. has written an excellent - I would say even astoundingly good - book in an attempt to explain Orthodoxy to the Western Christian. This explanation is often so difficult, both because it is simply hard to put into words and because, once put into words, the different mindsets of East and West make conveying the meaning of those words like speaking a different language, that the success with which Payton accomplished this task makes this book not only a good read but, I would say, a necessary companion to Metropolitan Kallistos Ware's "The Orthodox Church." This is true of both the Western convert to Orthodoxy and Orthodox individuals in general as, in explaining Eastern theology, Payton clarifies much of what the West believes, as well. While reading the text, I was pleasantly surprised by how thorough Payton was. No less than 5 times (and I think more), I was reading and began to think, "This is all good, but I really think he needs to include something about..." and literally the next sentence or section would address my very concern. Clearly, Payton understands Orthodoxy about as best a non-Orthodox individual could... In fact, I found certain explanations of his - for instance, his explanation of the Orthodox theology of icons - to far surpass many similar such attempts made by Orthodox authors. With a few minor exceptions, I found Payton's explanation of Orthodox theology to be spot on.This being said, there certainly is some room for improvement. First, though Payton says in the Epilogue that he knows he did not cover every topic and never intended to, a couple chapters could have been included. For instance, I would have liked to see something concerning the Orthodox theology of Heaven and Hell (explaining that Hell is the love of God experienced as pain and suffering for those who did not purify themselves of the passions...) or, connected to this, the Orthodox focus on God as love rather than the preoccupation of some in the West to focus on a God of judgment. Second, some examples of what he wrote about, such as scenes from the Lives of the Saints, would have been helpful in making something very abstract - such as the theology of the Uncreated Light - more tangible. And third (and this is a larger issue), Payton's stance as an "outsider" to Orthodoxy, while helpful in his ability to express things in a way clear to the Western mind, also hindered him from reaching the essence of the difference between East and West. Payton understandably wanted to create a "fair" presentation, neither elevating Orthodoxy too high nor denigrating the West. In all fairness to him, even if he were Orthodox, trying to explain these things without unintentionally offending a non-Orthodox reader with something that appeared to be bitter triumphalism would be difficult. And yet, looking at Orthodox as just another - albeit very well done - version of Christianity with its own particular vision and character is to miss the heart or Orthodoxy's self understanding: it is the unerring, undivided, perfect Body of Christ. This Body of Christ, while imperfectly ministered to by man, is nonetheless the Vessel of the Holy Spirit, the Pillar of Truth, and the most perfect Hospital for ill man. When Christ Ascended, He yet remained with us in One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, undivided and unconquerable. When one does not view the Church as such, Orthodoxy becomes just another "tradition" of Christianity which can simply be "tried out" or from which one can simply implement the desirable aspects into his own tradition. This misses the basis for Orthodoxy's self-understanding. If one does not recognize this about how Orthodox views itself, it is akin to training for months or years for a marathon and then staying home the day of the race: you may have made yourself look like a runner, you may have a great understanding of what runners go through, but you gave yourself no chance to win the prize.Again, I understand Payton's unwillingness to venture into such theology, first because he is not Orthodox himself and second because, without great delicacy, this could turn many off to the riches of Orthodoxy. However, I recommend that, if one wants to go deeper than Payton and get more to the essence of the differences, you can read these two articles, both available online: Metropolitan Anthony Khrapovitsky's "Way Apart: What is the Difference Between Orthodox and Western Confessions?" and Metropolitan Hierotheos Vlachos' "The Difference Between Orthodox Spirituality and Other Traditions." Type either into Google to find them.Despite these shortcomings, however, I still cannot but call this a necessary text, and I thank God that Payton has written it.

I just came across this book rummaging around on the Amazon site. I thought it looked interesting and so bought it. Reading through the first chapter of this book I thought I was in for a major disappointment however as I got into the second chapter, this book really blossomed into a true treasure.I am a person who has moved from the Protestant West into the Orthodox East and this book elaborates many of the reasons why I took this move. Being interested in history, and as a Christian, the history of the Church, I found it hard to reconcile my contemporary church experience with that that I had read about of the Church in the past. My transition took about 10 years, but perhaps if I had had this book my trip may have been a lot quicker. The author is an historian who studies the differences between Roman and Greek culture and this may have well suited him in a special way for the writing of this book. There are many, many, instances of finely nuanced phraseology expressing very fine detail of theological thought. I am impressed by this guy's very careful terminology when explaining theological differences of East and West. I think I made over 100 highlights in this book. I must say it is not often that I do that, but some of the ideas were particularly well expressed and I hope to be able to use my highlights as a reference, perhaps in future discussions with the various Christians I meet on life's way. This item has a rather extensive bibliography at the back of the book with many famous Orthodox writers. The bibliography has several categories, enabling the reader to find items on various subjects quickly.I read this book in Kindle form and as a pleasant change there were hardly any typos; in fact it is probably one of the better Kindle books that I've read from a production viewpoint. If you've been thinking about what's gone wrong with Western Christianity and the true nature and purpose of the Church you may find this book of extreme interest.

Let me just start by saying that this book was absolutely great, but there’s a but coming. This is the third and final book of the series and while the first two books were so amazing, the third book just feels so rushed and underdeveloped. So much new information was just randomly being shoved out, it felt like the story was scrambling to fit everything in. All this new information about the characters back stories was being forcefully regurgitated before the book ended. The ending was good and everything was being tied together, the bad guys were meeting their end, the good guys saving the day, BUT the story just felt so rough and forced. It didn’t flow smoothly, there were so many new discoveries popping up that it really gave a feeling of the white rabbit from Alice in wonderland running and calling out, “I’m late!” This could easily have been separated into two books and given a more satisfying flow and end. That being said, the story was still wonderful and I liked it a lot!

This is a very cute series! Although not what I was initially looking for. I personally like a bit more in the romance department whereas this remained kind of juvenile but I expected that since the main characters were young but still gave the series a shot. I'm glad I did. It was great for what it was and everything worked out so well in the end. This a great series for teens and adults that like a PG paranormal romance!

Such a good ending. Everything wrapped up nicely and not necessarily easily either. It wasn't just "slapped" together. I would love to see them 5 years down the road too, see what is happening but I don't need to either. Very good story

What a great ending to a unique series! With a possible spin-off, I’m excited to see what could come next and if we get more of all these lovable characters.

Amazing series! Loved the ending and am thrilled with Finn's chance for a better life!

Amazon.com Review

According to Robert Baer, the center of the global economy is a "kingdom built on thievery, one that nurtures terrorism, destroys any possibility of a middle class based on property rights, and promotes slavery and prostitution." This kingdom also sits on one quarter of the world's oil reserves, thus ensuring that it receives the full support and protection of the U.S. government. Sleeping With the Devil details the hypocritical and corrupt relationship between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia and the potentially calamitous economic consequences of maintaining this Faustian bargain. As Baer makes clear, the U.S. has been aware of problems within the bitterly divided Al Sa'ud family for years, but has ignored the facts in order to keep lucrative business deals afloat. (The amount of money the royal family spends to influence powerful American politicians and lobbyists is staggering.) Particularly damning are his details regarding Saudi Arabia's support of militant Islamic groups, including al Qaeda. The ruling family funnels millions of dollars to such groups in order to dissuade them from overthrowing the monarchy--a protection scheme that is shaky at best, given the hatred most citizens feel for the ruling family. To prevent economic disaster that could come from either a local uprising or an interruption in the flow of oil due to terrorism, Baer raises the possibility of the U.S. seizing the Saudi oil fields and forcing a regime change on its own terms: "An invasion and a revolution might be the only things that can save the industrial West from a prolonged, wrenching depression," he warns. Baer spent 21 years with the CIA, much of it in the Middle East, so he is an informed guide to this complex subject. His alarming book deserves to be read for raising many important and troubling questions. --Shawn Carkonen

In his blustering second book, former CIA officer Baer (See No Evil: The True Story of a Ground Soldier in the CIA's War on Terrorism) targets Saudi Arabia's corrupt leadership and cozy relationship with Washington. He argues that because the Saudis pay vast sums to powerful Americans, often in the form of lucrative defense contracts, those U.S. agencies that could help stop terrorism are thwarted by their own side. For example, CIA superiors tell Baer that they have no operating directive to look into Islamic fundamentalism in Central Asia in the early '90s. He is deeply disappointed in both the CIA and the State Department, which he says looked the other way throughout the '90s as widespread dissatisfaction with the status quo took root in Saudi Arabia. While Baer's attacks on Washington's "consent of silence" sometimes beg for clarification, his many working years in the Middle East and Central Asia give him great believability, and he makes a strong case that Saudi Arabia-with skyrocketing birth rates, growing unemployment, a falling per capita income and a corrupt ruling family draining the public coffers-is a powder keg waiting to explode. To prevent being overthrown, Saudi rulers channel money to violent fundamentalists, including al Qaida, via Islamic charities. Baer's radical solution is guaranteed to stir debate and make many skittish: "An invasion and a revolution might be the only things that can save the industrial West from a prolonged, wrenching depression."Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information, Inc.

Outstanding book, truly in my view the best work on the Kingdom and our unholy alliance with the Saudi's that continues to cost American lives abroad and at home and our own security as a whole. Well worth the time to read this book, if you read no other book on this topic READ THIS BOOK AND PASS IT ALONG TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY --or buy additional copies for your friends and family- this information needs to get out to a larger audience in America in particular. This work by Robert Baer is filled with -facts- not pleasant fictions that we have been sold over and over by MSM, and others in Washington in both so called parties. Highly recommend this work-- to all that still appreciate facts and truth, not emotionalism, and feelings over truth.

Reading this book I can understand how the CIA failed completely to stop any of the attacks by bin Laden and others. To have a agent operating in the Middle East who is not able to read Arabic or Farsi but who depends on third and forth hand information shows the incompetence of the CIA. Baer also states that the GW Bush administration was the first to take the threat of bin Laden seriously while ignoring the meeting in August of 2011 where Bush and Rice and Powell all discounted bin Laden as a threat and ignored the advisories prepared by the Clinton administration. Bush and Cheney were to intent on repaying their campaign contributors with the gift of the Iraqi oil fields to think about anything else.Baer shows no insight into the tribalism in the region that dominates the policies and politics and behaviors of people in every country in the region and like others, he mistakes religious differences as the core driver when it is but an excuse. The United States was instrumental in the overthow of democratically elected governments in Iraq and Iran and Egypt and this is overlooked by Baer who looks only at current events and not the efforts by the British after World War I and II to force national boundaries that igored tribes and ethic factions entirely. The ignorance shown by Baer in his book is quite overwhelming and I would be embarrassed to admit having been on the government payroll for decades and having learned no more than a reporter outside of the services. Baer is evidently unaware that the version of the Quaran that the Saudi Arabian government publishes and distributes by the millions each year targets the infidels in the United States. It was their Wahhabism that incited bin Laden. Also overlooked to a large degree is the extent to which men like GH Bush work directly for the bin Laden clan through the Carlye Group. GW Bush denied the FBI any opportunity to question any member of the bin Laden family after September 11 and saw to it that they left the country on a charted jet.Baer is also politically naive and culturally ignorant and oblivious to the history of the past 100 years in the region in his beliefs that Saudi Arabia and the Middle East countries should outlaw righteous murder. The United States is actively dropping bombs on civilians in 6 countries at this time and providing Saudi Arabia with bombs and fuel to drop bombs on civilians on a 7th country. The US bombed and shelled hospitals and schools and water treatment and power plants in Iraq and killed more than 1 million men, women, and children, while leaving behind tons of fine radioactive dust to damage future generations for many many years.Baer writes about the Muslim Brotherhood as though it develop spontaneously and he ignores the Mubarak kleptocracy and brutality and suppression of the press that created the perfect environment for this group to flourish.

Robert Baer, a twenty year veteran case officer of the Central Intelligence Agency's Directorate of Operations (the people who have their feet on the ground in foreign nations around the world) who most recently served as vice-director of operations, Iraq, shatters the consensual naiveté of Western populace with his compelling and disturbing work, "SLEEPING WITH THE DEVIL: How Washington Sold Our Soul for Saudi Crude." In a work that spans nearly the entirety of his two-decade experiences and takes us through the dark and disgustingly murky intrigues and backroom graft that have made regime of Saudi Arabia virtually inseparable from the political process of modern America.Let's get something straight; unlike most of his contemporaries Robert Baer makes no socio-political argument within his text. The truth, as he sees it, is his only cause. Regardless of your political persuasion and the vagaries of your opinions on the social contract of the individual vis-a-vis the state "Sleeping with the Devil" will make you take a second look at the party you favored with your vote. In fact, Baer refers to the last half century of corruption within Washington to be "the greatest bi-partisan effort in the history of Washington politics". A period which began with a briefcase containing one million dollars accidentally "forgotten" by Khashoggi, a Saudi billionaire (who is still active in Washington today), in the Nixon White house and has continued unabated and in ever growing depth to the modern day.The road to corruption is paved in black gold it seems. Baer leads us down this miasmic path and walks us through backroom deals of Washington's K Street lobbyists, intrigues in sub-Saharan Africa, the 4.6 billion dollar palace of the most corrupt Saudi Prince and pool-side meetings with Russian Mafiya arms-traffickers. How does it all come together? Baer's brutal truth should make every American reader shudder; it is our nation's political elite who have blindly subsidized the very terrorism of which we have recently become victims.Through our alliance with the House of Saud (the Saudi Royal Family) we have seen billions of petrodollars go to regime who has returned that money to us via graft and commissions to buy all the influence it needs. The rest of the western money is largely spent in two fashions. The lion's share goes to funding their own decadent excess. A Baer gives us insight into a lifestyle of depravity which includes almost ten-thousand princes, twice again as many palaces, the thousands of Filipino and Moroccan women who serve at their pleasure, and a lifestyle in which there is open competition for the greatest amount of excess. The Saud royal lifestyle has not gone unnoticed by the people of Saudi Arabia and it brings us to the far more disturbing second use of western oil-money. The Saudi's own people have suffered the most at their hands; they have no rights and referred to as property on their own passports. Religious fundamentalists have long decried the `heretical' lifestyles of their "rulers" and here lies the truth of things. The despotic Saudi regime is holding on by the most tenuous of grips. In attempt to placate the fundamentalists who want to drag them into the streets the Saudi's have spent countless billions funding their actions. After fourty-years of such protection payoffs the largest Arab nation has been transformed into a breeding ground for militant fundamentalism. The Saudi educational system has been entirely conscripted, all children save for those of royalty and their retainers are educated in madrasahs, schools of Islamic hate that enforce faith with brutality, ignorance, and censorship. 75% of all collegiate graduates earn degrees in Islamic Studies, which creates a working class who are unqualified to hold any job. This majority of educationally indoctrinated, poor, and religiously fanatical citizenry is the source for much of the destabilization of the Arab world and is a reality that is about to boil over. Is it any wonder than nearly all of the 9/11 hijackers were born and raised Saudi subjects? Worse, the Western world (and more recently China and Russia) were the ones, by proxy, responsible for its funding. This is the picture Robert Baer paints for us.These accounts aren't after-the fact punditry and are only the tip of the iceberg, Baer was there. In fact, prior to publication the book was vetted by the CIA and significant sections were deleted due at their demand. Rather than leave gaping wholes in his arguments and making note of their removal in his epilogue Bear leaves the blacked out print in place, giving the reader a tantalizing contextual insight into just what `the company' wanted removed. The reality Robert Baer shows us is a disturbing one and like a modern Paul Revere, "Sleeping with the Devil" is his clarion call, here is the enemy and they're coming.
