This is a great intervention program for girls in the school. The lessons need to be adapted to the time frame of an actual school day as there just is not enough time to do multiple activities in one session, but the girls LOVED this group. I will use it over and over. I also enjoyed all of the printable materials and resources. It is a well thought out program and it is a great package.

I am a school counselor at an elementary school grade K-5. I have several friendship/social skills groups and this book is amazing! Love that it has a cd to print the papers you will need. Get this book for your resources its a must have!

I wanted something that would make running groups more fun for me and for my students, but I found this book is not always going to be a click, print, and run to your group. Some of the activities require a little prep, or materials you might not find readily available. So always be a day ahead of yourself. My students were always excited to see what we doing for the week!

I had bought the Girls in Real Life Situations book for 6th grade and up and LOVED it. I decided to buy this one for younger grades. There are not as many exercises/activities in this one, but there are a lot of handouts , such as, word finds. This book is still handy and I have used a lot of the activities inside of it. Both of these books have been, hands down, the best group activity books I have ever purchased. They are realistic in regards to time, materials, finances, etc.

The lessons seemed unoriginal to me. I wasnâ€™t impressed.

I purchased this book to help facilitate a fifth grade girls group who were struggling with friendship issues, aggressiveness, and cliques. I use some of the activities in the book to help start conversation, but I found some of the activities to be shallow and geared toward a younger crowd (perhaps third or fourth grade). However, the book is categorized into different aspects of development and does offer some good suggestions to build cohesiveness within the group.

Highly recommended for counseling girl groups. The girls responded very well and look forward to attending girls group weekly. The book has wonderful ideas and tips for parents as well. It was a great buy.

I was introduced to this product by another professional. It had just the activities I was looking for when working with girls. I would highly recommend it.

I have been baking my way through this book (10 down, 28 to go), and not only are the pies visually stunning, but their taste is above par. I HIGHLY recommend this book. I also HIGHLY recommend going to see the musical "Waitress" on Broadway or the national tour! It was up against Hamilton at the Tony awards, but I believe any other year it would have easily won best musical, best original score (Sara Bareilles), best Actress (Jessie Mueller), and definitely best supporting actor (Christopher Fitzgerald).

It's a beautiful book & an amazing way to remember a fantastic show.My Mr. took me to see the show in March.I have a need based relationship with the kitchen. I can provide nutritious, tasty meals but I'm not really inspired or imaginative & often lack vision. All my recipe searches include the words easy.Some of the recipies are above my paygrade & have ingredients I never knew existed since I don't really bake (unless you count box taco shells or can biscuits). I was intimidated.I just made the pie on pg. 106... guys, it's amazing! Like... cant wait til I get off work today, amazing. Like... one of my kids doesn't like sweet potatoes so there's more for me, amazing. Like... thinner slices will make it last longer, amazing. It's confidence on a plate! Now for all the rest of the recipes.

Where do I begin! It's like I've waited for this since I first watched Waitress in 2007. It's amazing to see Jenna in the perspective different than who she was in the movie/broadway. It's a Jenna reflecting on her life before, life with her daughter and having the relationship she had with her mother. It's a wiser Jenna who has been through hardships and came out the other side using her incredible talent. For any Waitress fan buy this, for any baker who doesn't know what Waitress is this is your introduction.

This book has some really great ideas for pie irons. I love the full color picture of each recipe. I was hoping for some actual pie iron cooking tips, but this was all about putting the food in the pie iron and not how to actually cook it. I had never used a pie iron before and the idea is quite simple. So after a little bit of trial and error we made some great meals.

I am new to pie-iron cooking and was looking for a recipe book to get my feet wet. This book fit the bill perfectly. This is a high quality book with beautiful photos and easy-to-follow recipes. I realize there are hundreds of recipes on the internet, but it's really nice to have a bound physical book that I can take along on a camping trip. The small size of this book is perfect for that. I look forward to trying all the tasty-looking recipes.

Right from the start of reporting that a plane "went missing" in this part of the world I became suspicious about the entire incident; with today's advanced radar technology, etc. I knew that something nefarious -at the least just simply odd- was in the making. Without giving away any additional information that the writers present in this book- I do not want to steal any future reader's experience-I will end my remarks by commenting that I have been left with a sad and angry opinion about "the powers that be." After perusing the book's conclusions and end notesI highlighted multiple items to be further researched and considered; I also said a silent prayer for the families and friends of each of those 239 people on board the ill-fated flight 370. I am left with the certainty that, "Someone is hiding something."

I read this book as one with very little knowledge about the disappearance of flight MH370. It was an eye-opener and explained things in a manner that the layman could understand.Although the authors present many facts (and a chapter is devoted to each of the main theories about the plane's disappearance), what the authors do not do is advance one theory in particular as the answer. In other words, they allow the reader to draw whatever conclusions the reader wishes.My only complaint is that the book tends to repeat itself numerous times. I found myself on occasion thinking, "I get it already. This was said several times before."Aside form that though, I'd recommend this for anyone who is looking for a primer on the subject without the spin.

I had ordered a set of this book for one of my 7th grade teachers. She liked it for her reluctant readers. I hadn't read it until now and I couldn't agree more with her assessment. Students from 5th to HS will connect with this book. Very realistic in its portrayal of the pressure young athletes endure from parents and coaches. Highly recommend this book. The ending will take your breath away.

I liked how the author set every little detail up. Their wasn't a word in this book that was strictly a filler. The story itself was really fun and a quick read. I flew through it in a weekend, but how he set up the ending of the story by small details at the beginning of it is truly a remarkable feat. If you're not familiar with Deuker writing style, he follows a character from when they're younger and how things shape them to the person they become. I'm always a fan of his, but this is my favorite

Highly recommend this book whether you are a yogi or not. Gurmukh sheds a different light on pregnancy and birth, its not the view point that most of our western culture has. Most pregnancy books talk about development, weight gain, doctor visits---this focuses on connecting with your child, spouse, and enjoying every second of this blessing.

This is a great book if you don't have lots of time to read. The chapters are small and end with a meditation so it is a great way to give yourself and baby at least that 10 minutes a day to connect with each other and to feel the calm. Buy it, you'll be glad you did. I'm probably going to do these meditations even after birth because kundalini is meant for everyone, not just expecting mothers. That said the meditations chosen for this book really are the best ones that an expecting Mom could do :)

Get this book early in in pregnancy, for that matter, get any pregnancy book early on. This book is nice, and has lots of meditations, and practices you can do during pregnancy. It follows a Sikh outlook, as taught by Yogi Bhajin. Its a nice addition to the pregnancy book collection and gives a supportive, spiritual outlook on becoming a mother.

As a first-time mom, my first trimester was a really difficult time - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This book was recommended to me by a friend (also pregnant) that I know from yoga, so it was the first thing I read - and I am SO glad for that. It really helped me to see the bigger picture, align my perspective, and allowed me to relax into the experience at a time when I REALLY needed it. It got me through my first trimester, and I have found myself revisiting it throughout pregnancy. Excellent book!

My all times favorite pregnancy book! I love how it is spiritual and down to earth. Some books are all about technicalities and others are too "woo woo", just journaling or "listen to your intuition" , so I love how well balanced this book feels. I also enjoyed reading about other women's experiences. This is a must have!

This is a must read for pregnant women and I think mothers will enjoy too! It is so uplifting and informative. I really enjoyed reading this! I wish I knew about it sooner. I had met a girl in my kundalini prenatal yoga class when I was about 4 months pregnant and she raved about the book- also said that she wished she knew about it sooner. I wasnâ€™t in a rush to get it but did read most of it before I gave birth. This book isnâ€™t just for yogis!! Itâ€™s really written for everyone with beautiful stories about women from all walks of life!

I purchased this out of obligation for a teacher training I am completing, and I'm thrilled to say I love it. I don't necessarily agree with everything she has to say, but I think the exercises are invaluable and I love how they are listed out. They're serving me well as I move through my own pregnancy!

During these very stressful times, when the simple desire to find peace within becomes a burning obsession, this book can help you locate some perfect places to do just that.There are many guide books out there to choose from for a myriad of vacation styles but this book is extremely unique as it only offers places where a seeking soul can find inner peace, can find the true divine nature of who they are, to find deepest form of traquality one can obtain on a vacation or perhaps in life itself. If a person were looking for dinner shows, black diamond restaurants, thrills and high-entertainment for the whole family, this isn't that kind of guide, nor are the places mentioned between the covers going to be appealing.This book is only for those who seek the greatest thrill of all: inner tranquillity and divine connectedness. It's a "must have" book for the inspired traveler. I give it a 5+ rating! Laurie.

I haven't visited any of the sanctuaries mentioned here, but I hope to soon. The authors have done an excellent job of presenting useful information in an organized, evocative way (I especially was grateful for the line drawings of each site). Admirable thoroughness. And the map-based extra index is another nice touch.

I appreciate that this book exists (I would have no idea how to find these places otherwise, especially the Eastern-thought ones), but the book (and the two others by the same authors) is written sort of as a piece of "spiritual tourism." The descriptions of each place seem to focus on the accommodations and amenities; for example, I think almost every place is described as having "delicious [vegetarian] meals."That's nice, and I'm glad to know that I would eat well if I went there, but I would have liked a bit more description of each sanctuary's spiritual approach, as it is relevant to my reasons for wanting to go to one.Maybe a set of short general descriptions of the various approaches at the beginning of the book (Benedictine, Trappist, Jesuit, Mahayana, Theravada, Zen, etc.), including their similarities and differences. Then, in the description of each individual place, how they carry out that particular tradition, any differences of approach from the "standard," and so on.Don't misunderstand - there is some description of spiritual approach, but it isn't as consistently present as the descriptions of the meals, the beds, the view, and so on.The other two books by these authors have a decent amount of overlap, but they're useful, too. (I have all three.) I don't know if it's mentioned elsewhere, but each of the three books lists, beyond the places featured and described, the names, addresses, and phone numbers of many other places in each state. This is an excellent guidebook -- not only the best of its field, but also the only one that I know of. In my opinion, this is an absolute essential for the spiritual adventurer. Armchair seekers -- such as I -- will also enjoy its many, many stopovers and tales. I recommend it highly, but wonder why something like this wasn't written sooner ... when I was still young and single enough to put it to better use.

(I gave it only 4 stars because it's outdated, otherwise, I'd say 5 stars.)I was recently looking for a place to do a silent or meditation retreat. I had perused the internet, but frankly, when you don't know much about given places, it takes a long time, and a lot of effort to get reviews and information about different places.This book, however, lists hundreds of excellent places, and includes a personal review of each one, from which you can conduct a much more meaningful internet search.I highly, highly recommend this book if you want to know about the plethora of places across the United States where you can find a retreat, I was very happy with mine!

It wasn't all Catholic but included Buddhist, etc. I didn't realize the book was a little dated too. But the information they provided, when it was new, was very thorough, and it will still be helpful to me.

Wow! I really LOVE this book! Recently Iâ€™ve been trying to eat more healthy and get back in shape, when I found this book I thought Iâ€™d be great. It turned out to be truly amazing! Itâ€™s very well written and she cites many studies and sources. I have also made many of the recipes and they are easy to follow and very tasty, even my husband likes them! I really like how so many of the recipes use a lot of the same herbs and similar ingredients so Iâ€™m not buying an item that Iâ€™ll only use a little of and go to waste. All of the ingredients are very budget friendly and easy to find at any grocery. This book is resells life altering, I canâ€™t wait to order more of her books!

There is not much substance to this book for the price you pay. I was expecting more recipes and suggestions.

I have made a few recipes. They are just ok. Tonight I made the Lentil Butternut Squash Stew...stew it is NOT. I followed the directions exactly. For me being an avid cook, that is unusual. I had a gut feeling there was too much liquid required. I use to work in the food photography field. I should have known better. The photo of this dish in no way reflects the results. I Prepared it in the slow cooker, like she said you could do. The picture shows a enormous amount of hearty lentils, mine dissolved to mush. It is so watery ( yes I still havenâ€™t served it because I donâ€™t know what to do). Iâ€™ve added butternut squash purÃ©e to thicken, the carrots are cooked but apple and squash are baby food mush. Ugh...I havenâ€™t been overwhelmed by any recipe in this book and the nutritional pages are ok, but not as detailed as I thought. I really was hopeful. Now I am looking at an enormous amount of mush in my crock pot and I donâ€™t know what to do. And not sure how much I will now use this book. â˜¹ï¸

My husband, three daughters (ages 20-23) and I all loved this book! It is so easy to follow and the recipes really work! I am planning on ordering as gifts for the holidays!

She also decides to go back to using her childhood name of Fliss while she is in En Zed.Robertaâ€™s brother is Dominic. Dominic is a deacon in the church. (Think minister.) When he lost his wife a few years ago, he made the decision that he would not remarry nor would he date. It would be just him and his daughter.Attraction can play havoc with the stated plans of man. Add in a photograph of Fliss in a modeled wedding gown leaked out to the town and things happen. This is a well crafted book with real characters who have flaws just like us. It does move at a fairly fast pace but it is at the right pace for the plot lines.I always enjoy Ms. Woodsâ€™ novels because of the way that she blends characters with RL issues that I can relate to and that she always manages to make the magical landscape of En Zed a part of the novel.This is the second story in the new series Bay of Islands Brides. Each book is a stand alone novel but it is always fun to read them in order so you get to revisit old friends.I did receive a copy of this novel from the author in advance in exchange for a fair, unbiased review.

As much as I've enjoyed many of Serenity Woods' novels, this was a disappointment. Dominic managed to go from promising his dying wife he'd never love anyone else (trope) to being an Everready sexual bunny in the blink of an eye. Felicity was hard to relate to -- the screen ingenue in the middle of a p.r. scandal giving philosophical advice on life and love to a deacon while on the rebound herself.I started to twitch after drowning in repeated references to her leading him astray, corrupting him, and her dirty-mouthed preacher man. Other cheesy dialogue included â€œYouâ€™ve cast some kind of spell on me.â€ â€œAbracadabra,â€ she murmured. Sigh.....2.5 stars rounded to 3.

WOW WOW WOW---I LOVED IT. A stand alone read with a HEA. Part of a series but can be read by itself. There are a lot of characters that have their own books so you get to revisit and "know" the character that is being talked about. I LOVED this story. A Deacon in the church is a bit different in the states. He is more of just a supporting cast in the church with no ambition to be a part of the clergy. I don't know that he even has to have any special training, just be willing to do the job. Dominic is a different kind of hero. Still a perfect guy to fall in love with but he has a strong sense of doing the right thing and being aware of others feelings, etc. He is a widower with a 7 year old daughter. He has a big family with his mother, sisters and brothers so he has a large support group to help with his daughter. He is the perfect guy. One has a tendency to think all clergy looks down on anything sexual but Dominic is NOT that way. He is good as gold in his life and in his bed. Wow, never met a preacher or a deacon quite like Dominic.Fliss is a native of New Zealand but made her mark in Hollywood. She is an up and coming young actress doing quite well for herself. It seems like she has it all. And then her world explodes. Just seeing her thoughts in print gives you an impression of what a lot of stardom is really like. She runs home to New Zealand to her best friend to get away from the press and to decide what she really wants for the rest of her life. She has a lot of soul searching to do.Domonic is her best friend's brother so they are immediately brought into the same circle of family and friends. Their story is off the charts. It amazes me how a writer can weave a story to the point of you getting right in the middle of it and not wanting to do anything but see where it goes. I LOVED this story and the characters. The story sucks you in from the first sentence and you will not want to put it down until you see The End. And then, you will wish there were a few more chapters. It leaves you feeling light hearted and good. A great story, a great read, a great hero, I absolutely definitely recommend it.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 4/28/18

But, seeing Fliss again after so many years makes him rethink his future.A lovely story about the power of the media (and social media) and the power of faith in decision making. Figuring out ones own heart isnâ€™t always easy...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I read the first book in this series. I started this one & finished it a day & a half. I throughly enjoyed both books. I just pre-ordered the 3rd book in the series. I was hesitant about this series because it is not set in the USA or Europe. I had no problem reading & following the different words used that are not common here. Actually I think I enjoyed the book more because of that.

Great read for those that love sweet romances. With morals and faith love can blossom keep your heart open. It has some hot moments too but great story. If your life is not what you want there is always another path to follow.

I read Bride in Trouble and then Bride by Mistake, I love how you bring characters from other series and I especially love how you describe New Zealand. All your books are wonderful you never disappoint. I always go back and reread your stories. I love your writing.

I had very little knowledge about ancient Egyptian civilization, and this book cured that. I'm sure from the history book side, this may be seen as an abridged version of a very rich subject. But given that it spans thousands of years and that the book is aimed at a broader audience, I think the author struck a reasonable balance. He even makes some casual comments ("their war hero was going native") which made me chuckle. An enjoyable and enlightening read.

Extremely well written book. Extensive chapter notes and bibliography sections. The material was covered with detailed descriptions requiring a highly educated perspective. If you've been reading on the history of ancient Egypt and are ready to advance to the next level, this is the book for you. My highest recommendation!

The authorâ€™s statement at the beginning of his work that Egypt was the first Nation state in the modern sense is flat out wrong. It reflects the continuing insistence by Westerners that a civilization so great must have followed a European construct. But the exuberance and details of the narrative that follows is utterly enthralling.

Excellent book. Based on archeological evidence, the author outlines the historical development and advancement of the worlds first civilization. His determination that the kings of Egypt ruled with an iron hand is completely believable. Their ruthless despotism Is made apparent. The author challenges the widespread belief that they ruled with a gracious benevolence. They made themselves into living gods! Why? Because the common Egyptian would never dare rise up and challenge the rule of a god! A great book! A comprehensive study. Worth getting, worth the price. Read the book and you'll have a broad understanding of ancient Egypt.

After a trip to Egypt this summer, I wish I'd read this book first. I have been enamored of Ancient Egypt ever since I was a child. Trip of a lifetime and Toby Wilkinson's book was very eye opening. The Egyptians were master-craftsmen and seemed to work magic with their building and metal working.

Great introductory book to Egyptian history. Can't say I understand some of the criticism on here. Yes, parts of it are speculative, but what book about ancient history isn't? While I somewhat agree with the dismay that there are no citations in this book, the wide breadth of history this book purports to cover should probably have alerted you to the fact that this is meant to be a relatively casual read, and not for use for academic research or as a doctorate textbook. Lastly, I found the author's thinly veiled critique of the political system in Ancient Egypt to be perfectly valid. Just because most every society in the ancient world is tremendously oppressive does not mean that such oppressiveness should go unchallenged.

This is the first complete history of ancient Egypt that I have read that held my interest on every page. Considering the paucity of evidence, the excellence of the observations here compliments the fascinating stories of the rulers of a nation which endured for three thousand years!. Highly recommended.

He provides information on all the.Pharaohs and their tombs and monuments but more important for me was his description of everyday life in Egypt. Definitely get the this water-proof version. For a few dollars more, you have the peace of mind.
